                            FANTASTIC MR FOX MOVIE REVIEW

Fantastic Mr. Fox is a movie about a male fox, a fantastic fox. Mr. Fox is a very clever, brave, tricky and regarded “a fantastic fox” by his wife and children. Mr. Fox steals from his human neighboring farmers known as horrible crooks: Boggis (the fat one), Bunce (the short one) and Bean (the lean one), for survival. On a hill above the valley there was a wood, in the wood there was a huge tree, under the huge tree there was a hole. In the hole there resides Mr. Fox, Mrs. Fox, his son Ash and his nephew Kristofferson which is situated next to facilities run by the three farmers. Because they knew that Mr. Fox was stealing from them, they took strategic, drastic measures to try and kill Mr. Fox. But because Mr. Fox was a fantastic fox they couldn’t get him, but he did pay the price for his deeds by losing a tail, now he is a tailless fantastic Mr. Fox.

The movie and the book. Firstly Mr and Mrs Fox start off the movie by stealing the food together, where as in the book it was just Mr Fox .Secondly, in the book Mrs Fox already has four foxes when in the movie she had only one fox. Thirdly Mrs Fox was against the stealing, so Mr Fox in the movie promised his wife that he’ll give up stealing and work at the local newspaper as a journalist, while in the book Mrs Fox is in support of the stealing. Another thing is that in the book no child gets caught or captured by the mean farmers but in movie one is caught and Mr. Fox has to go and rescue him. The character of Kristofferson who has a major role in the movie but he is not mentioned in the book. In the movie we are introduced to events whereby the farmers decide to drown the animals out of the hole and where the animals decided to fight back by burning the town down but in the book that is not mentioned. The movies reveals that Mr. Fox steals everything from the three farms, while in the book he steals only for the feast. The movie adds more background on Mr. Fox past life as a thief and adds scenes before Mr. Fox attacks while in the books it starts from the attackThe movie was not an effective adaption of the book as it has huge differences, it will confuse a person who already knows the theme of the book, so it did not present an accurate rather a similar interpretation of Dahl’s classic.  Although there are major differences, but mainly the storyline and the theme is still the same.

I really liked and enjoyed the movie as well as the book, equally. But mostly I enjoyed the movie, because it portrays animals as having the same characteristic as humans ,however ,this movie placed special emphasis on the fact that animals are wild by nature. The scene I enjoyed was when the farmers were cornered by their own dog while Mr. Fox is escaping .The part that is least effective in the story is when Mr Fox wanted his tail back while knowing that even if he have the tail and have it glued in, he’ll still be a “Tailless Fantastic Mr Fox”. Fantastic Mr. Fox is fine for most grade-schoolers but also contains some theme and humor that will go over kid’s head. The movie features a lot of scheming and violence, as the three farmers plot to kill Mr. Fox for stealing from them. So “Fantastic Mr. Fox” shouldn’t be recommended for children under the age of 16 years, it is not suitable for children.

MY JOURNEY, ,MY FINAL SCHOOL YEAR

MY FINAL SCHOOL YEAR AT ZIPHAKAMISENI SECONDARY, MPUMALANGA.

Ziphakamiseni Secondary School is a local government school situated at Kwamhlanga, Phola Park under Nkangala Circuit Region.

Phola Park  is a  small developing rural area also  a culturally diverse area, one area made up of many people. Phola Park had only 3 primary schools and no secondary school, it was then Ziphakamiseni Secondary School was established in 2004 yet it is still the only secondary school in the area. However the area is developing as it has community infrastructures such as a hall, orphanage projects and a rehab, citizens have an access to services such as water, electricity and sanitation .Though Rural areas are always discouraged yet rural school districts have a much better teacher-to-student ratio than suburban and urban school districts, which is one of the key identifiers of a successful schooling experience, I had a successful schooling experience in that very same rural area.

THE UNIFORM MATCHES WITH THE ENTRACE,( RED AND NAVY BLUE).

In Grade 12 I did Mathematical Literacy, Geography, Agricultural Sciences, Tourism (my favourite), English First Additional Language, IsiNdebele Home Language and Life Orientation as core subjects. My favourite subjects were Mathematical Literacy and Tourism. I am what I am today because of this school, it taught me many things in life, mostly it taught me to be an independent person I am.I started attending school at Ziphakamiseni Secondary School 2012 and matriculated last year (2015). Like the school’s slogan “RISE HIGH”, indeed we are rising high.

Let me talk about technology, we didn't have an access to technology. We only relied on textbooks for information, If we had to research, we were suppose to visit internet cafe for internet access. The was only one computer was for office and staff members of the school used for administration purpose. I think it could have been even much better if we were having an access to technology.

                                    AN INDELIBLE MARK LEAVER
A teaching philosophy is a self-reflecting statement of my own beliefs about teaching and learning, it helps one reflect on and improve teaching. I chose teaching because it enlightens the intelligent mind of each and every learner in believing that, teaching promotes learning that is both purposeful and enduring.
I am willing to be a caring, accountable, critically reflective teacher, a long-life learner who practices teaching profession as a practice of citizenship. As a great teacher I will leave an indelible mark that lasts a lifetime. I am willing to model the importance of engaging in lifelong quest to do harder right rather than the easier wrong. I’m not in this for money, for the time off or the recognition. I’m in it to make a difference, to learn and to inspire, and to teach because I realize the value of education. No matter what those specific goals are, they can be pretty much summed into a single goal: I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE. When I say my goal is to "make a difference", that is what I mean, I don’t only want to change the lives of the students, I also want to change the face of education.

My ultimate SMART goal as an ambitious teacher is to push students to do their best work like a professor who takes pride not in his or her own accomplishments, but in helping others realize their potential. I am in a unique position to have a direct impact on their students. I want to see my work in action, see the changes I affected, and in so doing I will be witnessing my firsthand goals coming true. By producing learners who are critical thinkers, problem solvers and those that are able to interact and socialize with others, who believes that education can change the world.
Teaching is a long-life learning process of teaching about new philosophies and new strategies, learning from parents and community, learning from colleagues and especially learning from the children. Learner’s role is to learn using different learning processes/styles namely multiple intelligence. While teachers role is teach, as an educator I will use different teaching and learning styles in order to create a constructive, appropriate and stimulating learning environment in class. Teaching-Learning Environment, teaching can become effective only by relating it to process of learning. Teaching objectives cannot be realized without being related to learning situation. We may create and use teaching aids to create some appropriate learning situation. The strategies and devices of teaching may be selected in such a manner that the optimal objectives of learning are achieved. No teaching, no learning and no learning, no teaching.

A teacher's role involves more than simply standing in front of a classroom and lecturing. My role is to prepare lessons, grade papers, manage the classroom, meet with parents, and work closely with school staff. Being a teacher is much more than just executing lesson plans, I will carry the role of a surrogate parent, disciplinarian, mentor, counselor, book keeper, role model and planner. I am going to do exactly what is expected of me as a foundation phase teacher, as teaching will be my Merit or. I will play the role of an assessor constantly assessing my students' abilities through formal and informal assessments, providing suggestions for improvement and assigning grades, the aim will be to evaluate the gap between learning and teaching. I will always pay attention to what students know does on their own and with others, with the received information  Teachers have this great opportunity to raise awareness on the world because anything they do or say is meticulously encrypted by children. A teacher, a leader.

Learners play an important role in the situation of teaching and learning. Learners have to respect teachers as their surrogate parents in a submissive way that they not afraid of them but know their place as learners. They need to show their understanding, skills, attributes and capabilities through their participation in a wide evidence of assessment tasks. The role of the learner, as one on a quest, is to ask questions and engage actively in learning. The learner must be attentively to his or her teachers, must be willing to receive information from the teacher and other learners.

Optimal learning is attained when the school accommodate everyone. Safety is not only that they do not worry about being emotionally or physically hurt by those that they share their space with, but also that their ideas will also be valued.  The environment is safe to make mistakes, share thoughts, and know that their ideas will not be attacked. A mutual respect between teacher and student must be created to ensure that there is an opportunity for optimal learning. I think the school and the government must provide learning materials such as textbooks, writing exercise books, stationery to learners. Optimal learning in classroom situation, has to be attained to promote attention, structure, access, and orderly movement, minimizing distractions, make efficient use of the available space. Parental involvement play a significant role in optimal learning. In ensuring optimal learning a learner, parent, and teacher should work together.

My personal value as an ambitious teacher is to play a crucial role in helping and influencing the impressive minds of individuals who strive for excellence. I will teach how to learn, engage learners whole being, open them up to new experiences and show them how everything ties together. I ought to exhibit a professional behavior and loyalty. I believe that every child should be approached as a person capable of thinking and learning.  I value the worth of a human being should be respected regardless of sex, sexual orientation, outward appearance, age, religion, social status, origins, opinions, skills or achievements. Truthfulness is my central value in teaching, in which I will be engaged in guiding learners in their encounters with their surroundings and with life itself.
